TRS ready to be Cong ally at Centre
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) wants to join a Congress-led coalition in the Centre in case it comes to power there.
But the separatist party is not inclined to join government at the state if the Congress comes to power there, although there is pressure building within to do so.
With exit polls predicting a hung parliament, TRS feels it can play a decisive role in national politics by supporting the Congress in that party''s bid to form a coalition government.

"This will enable the party to press the Centre to sanction special development packages for the region and build pressure for a separate Telangana," a party leader said.
Besides, the TRS can influence the Union to do justice to the region at the time of division of the state.
"We want to ensure all resources are distributed equally between both the regions of the state," he said.
If the TRS becomes a part of the coalition government at Delhi, it can also persuade other parties in the coalition to vote in favour of separate statehood for Telangana.
